SIMPLE INTERIOR DESIGN AND FIT-OUT FOR A 60 SQM. HOUSE
17
Here is another interior design and fit-out we did somewhere in Cavite. This was done simultaneous with the another interior design and fit-out bungalow I posted couple of weeks ago. This one is a two storey house with 60 square meters.
It has a open plan for living dining and kitchen area. It is a small area actually with no room for an entertainment area. We wanted an L-shape sofa and that made it difficult to decide where to put the tv. If we provide a wall the area would now look cluttered and small. So what we did was put a vertical lattice between the living and dining area and hang the tv on it. The output was an still open and clean division between the areas. (more…)
KEEPING YOUR HOME HEALTHY – PART 2

Part 2 of the KEEPING YOUR HOME HEALTHY – PART 1. How do you keep your home healthy? They say that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. While illness at home is inevitable, prevention is still best. Here are some tips to keep your home healthy
Ventilation Proclamation – Fresh air impoverishes the doctor. Studies show that increasing fresh air supply in a home improves the respiratory health of its residents. When it comes to the health and being of a home and its owners, windows and doors can play a major role. Hey, they do not call it fresh air for nothing. Choosing the right windows and doors and using them properly contributes to a home’s indoor environment. Good home designs provide necessary elements such as fresh air and natural light, and ensure that indoor environment work as effectively as possible. (more…)

Try Dry – A dry home prevents the growth of molds that in turn can trigger asthma attacks and other allergic reactions in the residents. Water and moisture also attracts cockroaches, rodents, and results in dust mites — again increasing the risk of asthma attacks. Preventing moisture is a key step towards health. You first line of defense should be your windows and doors. Prevent water from entering your home by making sure that windows and doors are installed correctly and sealed tightly. Using exhaust fans, opening windows, and doors frequently to enhance airflow and having proper roof ventilation are also important steps in moisture control. (more…)
BAYVIEW HOUSE BY G. T. ARCHITECTS
2
Gartner Trovato Architects have recently completed the Bayview House in NSW, Australia. This house is I think best for sloping ground specially on mountain parts. What is good about this design is that it is applicable as a typical house with its modern look. The railings on the sliding whole length windows are use as barriers for safety. Done for both aesthetics, air flow and safety as well. Sometimes what is wrong with nowadays designs are used with unopenable large windows without consideration for airflow and safety just so that their design would look good. (more…)
ARCHITECT VS. ENGINEER
5Now this is a funny, Architects vs. Engineers. I am seeing this almost everyday. A typical scenario in the construction business or may I say even on the design aspect. This has been a great debate everywhere on who is better and who is the “main man” in terms of building a structure.
Architect was taken from the a Latin and Greek roots that means the “CHIEF BUILDER.” So what is an Architect? Let me quote Gharexpert: (more…)
