I have been busy this past weeks because of work and stuff so this post will just be a quick one. My Architect Organization Chapter is finding other ideas on how to make the monthly newsletter fun. We decided to include the PUGAD Marvalley. It is a comic base pages that will showcase bloopers and behind the scene images of events and turn it into a something like a comic strip. Well it is just a simple comic strips with chat boxes in them and even anyone can do it on Microsoft Word.
I was the one in charge of doing it and having made it in Photoshop, PowerPoint or Word is sometimes impossible because of the time constraints. So, I decided to check out some android apps so that I can do it even on the road. I tried several android apps for making a comics but I stick in with Photoshake. It is easier to use. It has great features. You can do a lot of customization because of its templates. It has choices for pages, for border, chat boxes, fonts, colors, adjustable image locations, and a lot more. I am using the free version of course but the features suits all my needs. The images on the left is the main screen of Photoshake. I have already made 3 pages of Pugad Marvalley for 3 consecutive months. Below are some sample it. (more…)
Happy Engineer Day, this is what I saw yesterday viewing their profile in Facebook. I was shock and I did not there exist one. So, I decided to search it up and to find out that every country celebrate’s Engineer’s Day in a different date and Philippines was not on the list of countries celebrating it. The country that is celebrating Engineer Day yesterday is India and they are celebrating it in honor of Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya who was actually born on the same day in 1860. He had made several notable and big contributions to India especially on dams and reservoirs.
There are events in India to celebrate the Engineer Day and I do not here any here in the Philippines. I never heard one yet being celebrated here not like how the United Architecture of the Philippines and other countries celebrate The World Architecture Day simultaneously on the same date and this year that would be the first Monday of October, October 1. Well, engineering is very big and it affects almost all of our lives whether knowingly or unknowingly. I saw this video about what will happen to our lives without engineers, it is true so here is my salute to the engineers of the world. (more…)
Now this is a funny, Architects vs. Engineers. I am seeing this almost everyday. A typical scenario in the construction business or may I say even on the design aspect. This has been a great debate everywhere on who is better and who is the “main man” in terms of building a structure.
This is the Vigan Cathedral in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. This was done by me using watercolor on an illustration board. This was a final plate for rendering unit during my college years and that was more or less a decade ago. I saw this on my cabinet when I was cleaning some stuff. If my memory serves me right, I copied this from a postcard. I was in Vigan a couple of months back and I was shocked on the environment surrounding the Vigan Cathedral. (more…)
I was in a police station this afternoon and I cannot help but asked myself two questions. “Is this the office our police force who supposed to be one to be one of the most trusted office in or country? And is this the office of the people who are supposed to be protecting or country?
I saw people going in of the building without being asked where are they going. I saw people going in and out of the Head of the Police Station and those going out of that office are either in house clothes or a face.who looks like she just woke up. I saw someone coming out of the office the investigating division in shorts and sando lighting a cigarette as he loiter in the second floor. (more…)
