This is the Vigan Cathedral in Vigan, Ilocos Sur.  This was done by me using watercolor on an illustration board. This was a final plate for rendering unit during my college years and that was more or less a decade ago.  I saw this on my cabinet when I was cleaning some stuff.  If my memory serves me right, I copied this from a postcard.  I was in Vigan a couple of months back and I was shocked on the environment surrounding the Vigan Cathedral.

The exterior color have changed.  There were less trees on the front.   I do not see the pond anymore.  And, there are a vendors in front of the cathedral.  It still look great there is no doubt about it.  Its architectural character of the cathedral is still there but I expected a more serene and peaceful looking cathedral.

The interior looks great. I was not able to get inside for the entry was blocked by devotees.

Cathedral of Vigan was built in 1641 and it became a Cathedral when the seat of the Diocese of Nueva Segovia was transfered from Lal-Lo, Cagayan to Vigan.

Vigan is a great place to visit if you want to reminisce the beauty of Architecture during the Spanish Era here in the Philippines.  Although there have been a lot of changes, you can still some of the remnants preserve.  This is a must see destination here in the Philippines.

Oh by the way, I got 95 on this watercolor plate. (haha)
