Going green does not mean buying all those high cost solar cells or wind mills or similar stuff but could also be done in a very simple and ordinary ways.  It could be the very painting and decorations you put inside your home or simply brightening up your room.

White walls and ceilings significantly reflect more lights into the room than dark surfaces do. This means “lights off” in the morning.  Since white does not absorb the light, and therefore does not absorb the heart, an air-con would not be necessary.

Painting the room with white or light neutral palettes will help you save on energy bills, save the Earth and keep your cool.  If you want dark colors, try painting the focal wall in room only, while keeping the rest of walls in a light shade.

Decorating your rooms with mirror will also lighten your place as they capture the sunlight and bounce it around.  Clean the glass in all areas of your home. The shiny surfaces in your home reflect light and sparkle, both contributing to a brighter and cleaner look.
